*** Currently I am only offering virtual, online events. I will update this page when the situation changes.***

I love delivering fun-filled events that inspire reading, writing, and creativity. Over the last few years I have participated in the public and schools programmes of many literary festivals including the Edinburgh International Book Festival, Hay Festival, Cheltenham Literature Festival, and Guernsey Literary Festival. I also have a PGCE and years of experience working with learners of all ages, from pupils in primary and secondary schools to adults in writing workshops.

Most of my events are based around the theme of reimagining folk or fairy stories, and are particularly suitable for KS2 children (ages 7-11), but can be adapted for different ages or requirements.

Events can be for any group size from a small class to a large assembly.

My fees are within Society of Authors guidance and are detailed below:

30 minute virtual q & a event

Q & A events can be for any group size and work best when pupils have pre-prepared questions. Limited numbers of free and discounted Q & A events are available for classes who have read one of my books together, but most thirty minute virtual events are £100.

60 minute virtual PRESENTATION event

Presentation events can be for any group size and include a short reading, a talk on a chosen topic, and Q&A. Example topics include:

  • Reimagining Baba Yaga and Slavic folklore in The House with Chicken Legs
  • The animals and folktales that inspired The Girl who Speaks Bear
  • The centuries-old Russian buildings, poetry and folklore that inspired The Castle of Tangled Magic

A sixty minute virtual event is £200.

Workshop events are suitable for groups of up to thirty pupils and include creative writing activities and Q&A. Example topics for activities include:
